New Year, New experiences!

 

Surprise! It’s me again. I have some excuses as to why I haven’t been keeping up on the blog, they’re good ones, trust me! But I’ll save that for another day. For now, I’m just going to jump right into current life. How is it January 2^nd, already?! I’m having a hard time comprehending it’s actually 2023. Mostly because the New Year came without any pomp or circumstance. We’ve all been sick.

Christmas was a wonderful day and it all went downhill from there. Today, there was a bright light in the day. Hollie has been climbing UP the stairs for quite a while now. Today… she went DOWN. It was a big deal. The first time, most of us missed the grand event. The second time, however, all of us were crowded around the base of the stairs, cheering her on. When she reached the bottom, she had an entire squad cheering and clapping. She tried to clap with us, but couldn’t quite figure out how to clap with one hand and hold onto the stair with the other. Which made us all laugh harder.

I just never expected Hollie to bring our family so much closer. We are bonded in a unique way that not all families get to experience. Bonded by cuteness. By adoration. As her first birthday is coming in just a few more weeks, I am so grateful for the unexpectedness of life.
