Comfort versus Discomfort
WRITING PROMPT #31: Comfort versus Discomfort
When we found out we were adding a fifth kid to our family we knew we would be kicked out of our complex because we were passing max capacity. We had no options. It was incredibly scary and there were a lot of tears and a lot of prayers. And then this town house miraculously fell into place for us.
Sometimes, I'll just be sitting on the couch or out on the porch and will feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the couple who allow us to live here and that we have a home that is such a perfect fit for our family.
We love our home. We love our master bedroom. We love our master bathroom. It is gorgeous and humongous to us but it has that design where the toilet is in its own little room with its own little door. I've never lived in a home that had a toilet positioned like that. And I've decided I really don't like it. I've started locking the main bathroom door and holding the toilet door open with my foot. Otherwise it's like being locked in a tiny closet... and apparently I am a literal closet claustrophobe.
I never mentioned it to my husband but one day I walked into the bathroom to find this.
Turns out, he feels the same way. Now the toilet door is always propped open as it should be.
The difference between comfort and discomfort is apparently a rubber duckie.
